Rhône-Alpes Cinéma

Created in 1990, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma is a public limited film production company whose region Rhône-Alpes is one of the shareholders and whose management has been given to cinema professionals. Since its creation, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma has co-produced more than 150 films. With 3 to 4 million euros invested each year in films, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma is one of the most important regional supporting funds for film creation and production in France.

Rhône-Alpes Cinéma missions:
*Co-producing feature films when shooting takes place in the Rhône-Alpes area and to support French and
 European film creation.
*Valorising the region as a big cinema set, right in the centre of Europe, with a lot of production means   (including the state of the art cinema Studio) and staff, therefore developing this film activity, leading to   economic and employment repercussions at a local level.
*Ensuring large broadcasting and promotion of these films in the region during their release, participating in   this way to the local cultural animation.
*Increasing the radiance of the Rhône-Alpes region thanks to the films broadcast at the movie theatres, on   television and on videocassettes all around the world.

RAC is financed by the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council and the French Ministry of Culture (CNC).

The Rhône-Alpes Film Commission:
Created in 1994 and pioneer in France, the RAFC receives cinema and audiovisual professionals who wish to produce a film in Rhone-Alpes. It works with all types of projects (feature or short films, fiction, documentary films and advertising). The RAFC can give advise and facilitate the work of the director and his team during the lining-up, and it offers the following services: putting in touch technicians and actors from the Rhône-Alpes area, with service brokers and providers, shooting permits, logistics reception.

The Studio 24:
In Villeurbanne, very close to the centre of Lyon, the Studio 24 offers an exceptional site of 8.000 square meters to the cinema, television and entertainment professionals. These services include:
*A 902 square meters set, which can be turned into a theatre/auditorium.
*Setting built units (joinery, painting, locksmith’s ironwork, editing) over 3.000 square meters.
*Offices and warehouses over 1.200 square meters including Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, the Rhône-Alpes Film
Commission, as well as offices created for ongoing productions.

Now, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma is in charge for the Studio 24, which is changing approaches. Indeed, after 83 years with no construction of cinema studios outside Paris, Studio 24 is bringing new perspectives to audiovisual decentralization. Studio 24, as well as Rhône-Alpes Cinéma and the Rhône-Alpes Film Commission, is a bonus for the region, both culturally and economically speaking.
