PACA - Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The feature film production fund of the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur (PACA) started in 2003. The opening of the Studios Marseilles as a complement to the existing Studios de la Victorine in Nice reinforced the film potential of the region, already at the second place in terms of number of films shooting in France. Available to French film and TV producers the fund is also open to European producers within the context of majority French co-productions. The financial support, similar to the advance on receipts system for feature films, is also available for scriptwriting, research and development. PACA works in the following fields:
*Aid for creation and production.
*Professionalization of the different players in the sector.
*Support for festivals and events.
The fund for production support is designated to support the production of quality audiovisual and cinematographic projects and to favour the use of regional personnel and industry. The projects should therefore have economic effects in the area and embrace the historic, geographic, social and cultural diversity of the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur. The mission of the regional Film Commission is to logistically help productions wishing to be based in the region PACA, and to see to that the regional artists, technicians and production companies can work fully in their region.
